Family Dedication is a public commitment by parents who are devoted to leading their children into a growing relationship with Jesus – to raise them in a home that reflects the grace of God. It is also a time for the congregation to support and encourage the families as they make this commitment – to come alongside them. As we all know, it takes a village!
On Family Dedication Sunday, reserved seating in the auditorium will be available to you and your family members. The more the merrier!
When the time comes for the dedication, you and your immediate family will be invited on stage. After the dedication, you will receive a certificate and a gift. A volunteer photographer will capture the moment and those photos will be made available to you at a later date.
There is no right or wrong age to dedicate your child. It is completely up to you.
Family Dedications happen once a year. Below is our list of upcoming Family Dedications which take place before each service on Sundays.
Our next Family Dedication will take place in 2025. Please check back in 2025 for the exact date.
If you would like to participate, please register at least two weeks prior.
Once you register, you will receive an email with instructions for sending family pictures and recording a voice memo that will be used during Family Dedication. Please note, you will not be asked to speak publicly during Family Dedications.
While some churches choose to baptize infants and young children, we understand Scripture to teach that only people who have made the decision to follow Jesus for themselves should be baptized. For infants and young children who are too young to completely understand this decision, we encourage families to participate in our Family Dedications.
If your older child is considering baptism and you believe they are ready, you are welcome to talk with a pastor or learn more about Baptism at Grace Fishers.
If you have questions about Family Dedications or would like to talk to a pastor, please contact Teri McVey.
